Artist on the Rise: April

Artist on the Rise is a new page we will be doing once a month here on Post Hardcore/Metalcore Today. On this page, we will talk about one band that is making themselves relevant in this music industry. This band could be one that a lot of people know but is finally getting recognition or a band that has recently formed that is relatively unknown by everyone. This month's artist on the rise is SKARLETT. SKARLETT is a one man metalcore band that is looking to make a splash into the already heavily populated hardcore scene. To prove how quickly this band's fan base is increasing, just look at it's Facebook page. In about 3 weeks, SKARLETT went from having 0 supporters to now having over 1,000. The band's first single The Dreamer is set to be released sometime in the next couple weeks. I received an early download of the single and trust me it is definitely going to be worth putting on repeat once it is dropped. This band brings a very new style to the scene mixing techno and heavy guitar riffs that can be heard underneath of very distinct sounding screams. The most interesting thing I found when listening to The Dreamer is that the clean vocals are extremely different from others in this scene. Instead of having that high pitched whiny voice that we have grown so accustomed to seeing from band's in this industry, SKARLETT's clean vocals are very rough and low which adds an element to this band that we do not see very often. This band most definitely has the ability to become one of the best and brightest in the music industry and seeing the perseverance of the one and only member AD, it is going to do just that. Although this band only has one song which has not even been released yet, I can say that it is going to make a HUGE impact in the post hardcore/metalcore industry in the future. That is why SKARLETT is April's Post Hardcore/Metalcore Today Artist on the Rise.
